For those applying to be an EMT:
The State of New Jersey by law requires a commitment of three years with responding to at least one call or being on shift at least fifteen hours per month with a NJ volunteer squad, if an individual is using the state's Training Fund to pursue EMT training. If you do not meet that commitment, you will be responsible for reimbursing the State of New Jersey for the cost of the EMT class and continuing education training. Please acknowledge that you understand this commitment.

Becoming an ambulance driver requires:
Approximately 10 hours of supervised driving to local hospitals
A 4-hour CPR class
A 6-hour emergency vehicle operators class
The ability to pass a cone course
One to two 4+ hour shifts weekly with a crew as you drive under supervision to accumulate a requisite number of calls. This can take one month or several months depending on your availability and availability of training slots.
Montgomery EMS requires a two-year commitment in return for investing in your training to be an ambulance driver. Please acknowledge that you understand this commitment.
